Introduction:
Chief badges are one of the key components to increase the strength of the players in State of Survival. They are also one of the few ways for players to improve the lethality/health of their troops. They come in different categories and levels, giving the players various stats. In this guide, we will be explaining more about the chief badges, their importance, their components, how to earn their components and how to upgrade them.
Background:
Chief badges are one of the best ways to improve the lethality/health of your troops and make your account stronger. To unlock the chief badges, you will need to upgrade your headquarter to level 25. Then you will have the ability to add or upgrade your badges. To do so, you will need to have the badge components. The badge components will be explained in the following.
Crafting/upgrading badges requires three separate components, mercenary influence, badge tags and certificate of honour (only required for the higher level badges). You can see these components in figure 1 below. Different ways to obtain these components from the game will be explained in detail later in this guide.
To get started, you will need mercenary influence and badge tags to craft and upgrade any of your badges. Certificate of honor is only required for the last four levels (general level badges). There are a total of 18 badges that you can craft/upgrade, and they each can be crafted once and upgraded 10 times to get to the maximum level. Generally, you will need larger quantities of mercenary influence to craft lower level badges, but much higher numbers of badge tags to craft higher level chief badges. However, general level badges need a lot of certificates ofhonour as well to upgrade, which is the rarest of the three components in the game. We will explain how to craft/upgrade chief badges in the following section.
How to obtain chief badge components:
In the following, some of the most common ways of obtaining these components will be explained.
1- Capital Clash / SvS:
Capital clash is one of the major events where you can obtain the chief badge components in large quantities. There are two types of rewards from the capital clash event and based on your participation level in this event, you can get a different number of these components. Figures 2 and 3 show the exact number of these components you can obtain as rewards. This event is a major source of these components from the game, thus make sure you participate in this bi-weekly event to get these components. As you can see from the figures. Even though you can get some of these components from the point rewards, you can obtain a higher number of them by participating more actively and achieving higher rankings in this event.
Note: Capital clash happens with the SvS warfare stage once every month, in which the rewards are the same as the normal capital clash event.
Note: As you can see, the certificates of honor cannot be obtained from this event. We will explain more how you can get them later on in this guide.
2- Reservoir raid and league stores:
These two stores provide the chance to buy both badge tags and mercenary influence for the price of 500 reservoir coins for each item. The availability of these items in the reservoir raid store refreshes every 14 days and, in the reservoir league store, every time a new season comes back. This is another good way to obtain these components constantly from the game.
Figure 4 shows an example of the reservoir raid store.
3- YITH or MIGO store:
YITH or MIGO store is another store that provides the chance of obtaining badge components. This store refreshes monthly (after the first two weeks as well) and may provide new availability of badge components every month. In this store, you will need to exchange yithomectin for the badge components.
Figure 5 shows an example of the MIGO store.
Note: The figure was an example of the store from MIGO 2, but the store from YITH also looks very similar with different currency and names.
4- Daily Deals in the biocaps store:Sometimes, you can find an offer for a number of badge tags/mercenary influence in the daily deals that you can buy with biocaps, and they are usually discounted as well. These are very good deals to add more badge tags to your supply. An example is provided in figure 6 below. As you can see, I had the chance to buy 10 badge tags for only 3,500 biocaps. The price and availability change a lot in the daily deals store. You should constantly check this store.
5- Some classic and contest events:
Some classic and contest events provide the chance of obtaining badge tags as rewards when you meet a certain point rank. This is another great way of obtaining badge tags since they are very valuable items to craft the chief badges. The best example of these events is the new Infected Clean-up event. This event provides badge tags as the rewards for every point reward stage in significant quantities. Figure 7 shows the rewards for this event and how many badge tags/mercenary influence can be obtained by completing all the stages.
6- Chief badge value cards:
In this event, you can obtain some badge components for free by meeting specific points. You can, later on, purchase the value card after unlocking more items to obtain even more components. This is a good way to obtain the components, since meeting the points is usually very easy. An example of these value cards and how to earn points is provided in figure 8 below.
7- Upgrading your chief level:
Depending on your current chief level, you can obtain some badge tags by upgrading your chief level. The quantity of the badge tags you can obtain varies depending on your current chief level. Figure 9 shows an example of the number of badge tags you can get by upgradingyour chief level.
8- Purchasing the chief badge bundles:
A fast way to obtain the chief badge components is to purchase the available badge bundles in the game. Different bundles are available at different prices/times, and you may be able to find better deals if you are not in a rush.
9- Surprising supply box event:
This classic event is another good way of obtaining the badge components and, sometimes, getting some points for another event that is happening at the same time. This event offers a variety of different rewards. But when it is about chief badges, you have the chance ofchoosing one of the badge tags or mercenary influence and opening the related box to get a different quantity of that component. To open the boxes, you will need crowbars that you can buy with biocaps (limited) or purchase from the bundles. Figure 10 provides an overview of the event plus the possible rewards from it.
Tip: Opening surprising boxes can be a fairly cheap way of obtaining badge components, and can also earn you points during other events. It is a good idea to invest in this event to obtain more components easier, but it is still a luck-based event, and you need to get lucky.
10- Destroy the reaper event:
This event is one of the less frequent events in which players have the chance of attacking the reaper and earning badge components via the tasks plus the ranking at the end of the event.
Figure 11 shows a summary of the rewards from this event
11- Treasure quest event:
The new treasure quest event is another way of obtaining the badge components. You can explore using either “precision position chip” or “positioning chip” and get random rewards that may include some chief badge components. Figure 12 shows a summary of the rewards from this event.
12- Miscellaneous:
There may be other ways to obtain a few components such as the login rewards, lottery event and azurtane heist event. But they are usually not significant sources of badge components, or the possibility of obtaining these components is not very high. There have also been events that may come back frequently in the game later on and provide a significant number of components for the players.
How to craft chief badges:
There are two ways to access your chief badges/craft or upgrade the current ones. First, you can access your chief badges by clicking on your profile picture and selecting one of your gears that you want to craft or upgrade the badge on. Second, you can also access your badges by going to your workshop building and selecting the chief gear option, then the badge enhance option. Figure 13 shows how to find the crafting area and how to craft the badges. As you can see, there are a total of 18 badges that you can choose to craft or upgrade, three on each of your chief gear pieces.
Tip: Crafting or upgrading chief badges usually adds many points in certain events. It would be smart to upgrade your badges only during the related events to ensure more rewards or possibly even obtaining more badge components by doing those upgrades.
Chief badge types and levels.
Now that we know the badges components and how to craft or upgrade them, we need to know what are the different types of badges and what is the cost for the different levels of these badge types. There are three different types of chief badges, infantry, rider, and hunter badges. Badges always add health/lethality to your troops, but each badge type only adds the stats to that specific type of troops. Figure 14 shows different types of badges and different levels of each type. Each different badge upgrade will improve the health/lethality percentage of that specific type of troops, and the improvement percentage depends on the level of that badge. There are a total of six of each type of the badges available to craft/upgrade and these are distributed on the chief gear pieces which will be explained later on.
It is now the time to take a look at all the different levels of these badges, plus what we get by upgrading them. Each badge can be crafted once and enhanced 10 times to increase the lethality/health benefits. Figure 15 shows the exact health/lethality percentage that you can obtain from each level of the badges. You can also see the cost of each upgrade on your badges in this figure. Each time you enhance a badge, you will get the difference between the two percentages of the two levels, as shown in the figure. Figure 15 also confirms that you need a much higher number of badge tags to upgrade your chief badges to the maximum level than mercenary influence components. Figure 16 provides an overview of where you can find each type of chief badge on your chief gear pieces and the maximum lethality/health percentage you can get by upgrading them to the last level.
As you can see from these figures, chief badges add a considerable health/lethality percentage (332.34% health/lethality for each type of troops if maxed) to your stats. So, they should not be neglected, as most players prioritize the chief gears over the chief badges and disregard their importance.
Tip: The cost for badges will go up exponentially as you upgrade your badges to higher levels. However, the military benefits do not increase significantly per upgrade. So, it may not be a bad idea to upgrade your lower level badges as you go up and not only invest in your higher level badges, especially for lower spenders.
Tip: In most battles and events, infantry and hunter badges can give you much more benefits, such as in pvp fights or influencer trap. So, prioritizing hunter/infantry badges over rider badges may be a good idea to increase your chance of success in the fights.
That should be all you need to know about the chief badges. Prioritize and upgrade them to increase your chance of winning on the battlefield. Good luck and enjoy the battles ahead!
